N°1228 Statement Earrings

For as long as I can remember, I have been attracted to Malachite- just as all followers of the goddess Venus were. The depth and delicate banding of the green (thank you Copper!) compares to nothing else on this planet.
And I love its lore, because long before it became admired in Europe, Malachite played a key role in ancient Egyptian rituals, symbolising vegetation, new life and fertility and death often referred to as entering the “field of malachite”.
And of course, Cleopatra is said to have worn crushed Malachite in her eye shadow… LOL… what’s not to love?

Mixed with tiny blue-green Agates, Lapis Lazuli  & Chalcedony and set into a silver-plated leafy base, these earrings have been inspired the most beautiful rock pool algae (see next image).
