    This is probably one of my favourite pieces of the new collection; it's that magic only black & white can create and because it is one of those transformers I can wear long or short, depending on my mood. And of course it pays homage to the four Butcher Birds (3 generations) that visit my studio almost every day (see images below).
    Once colour is removed the focus falls onto the textures, shapes patterns, and composition of the gemstones and brings out a different kind of enjoyment.
    It's an eclectic mix of stones and shapes - but one piece needs special mention - a Dentalium snail (long white structure) as it used to be worn in the ceremonial jewellery of Sioux and Lakota Indians.
    I brought these back from the US in 2004, when I was still a working scientist and gave a talk at a conference.
    This necklace is incredibly versatile, in that it can be worn as one long piece, but it can also be turned into a shortie.
    So serious value for money here, but more importantly the timeless interplay of black and white will mean that this piece will be in your wardrobe forever!

    Like all our pieces, it is handcrafted with love and care in our studio near Byron Bay. This eclectic limited-edition statement necklace is made from the following semi-precious stones and findings:

    • Onyx from Russia
    • Agates from Brazil
    • Pearls from Shanghai and Israel
    • Lava from Indonesia
    • Rutilated Quartz from India
    • A Dentalium Snail shell from USA
    • Tourmaline Pendant with Quartz Crystal from Hong Kong
    • 22k Gold plated base from Istanbul

    • length(laid out flat): 51 cm up the pendant, 57cm including pendant

      The For the Love of Butcher Birds Statement Necklacewill be beautifully gift-wrapped and ready as an exceptional gift for yourself or an unexpected gift for someone special. We to make each piece as closely as possible to the one shown in the image. However, since we are working with natural stones, each piece is a little bit different and that's just the way we like it.
