N°319 The Lemon Jade Bank Robber Statement Necklace
This asymmetrical & wildly contemporary statement necklace feels like a Japanese garden in spring, bright and eclectic lime hues juxtaposed with cool grey.
What makes this piece work so well are the contrasting shapes and materials, while being completely balanced. Japanese Landscape Jasper forms in remarkable bands and flow patterns of browns, black, tan, blue and ivory, creating masterful “scenes” and landscape patterns. In other words every Japanese Landscape Jasper bead is a tiny organic painting, believed by some to contain hidden messages from the past. The deliciously chartreuse hued “Lemon Jade” is actually the trade name for the yellow-green variety of the semi-precious Serpentine. The name Serpentine is widely believed to either be derived from its serpent-like colours and patterns, or because of than ancient myth that these gemstones were effective protection from venomous snakebites. If this is true – this just be a great piece to have own in Australia! The focal piece is a silver moon with an organic matte silver surface – uncannily resembling the surface of the moon. The silver chain at the closure can be used to extend or shorten the necklace depending what mood you are in!
Like all our pieces, it is one of a kind, handcrafted with love and care in our studio near Byron Bay.
